OYSS brings together doctoral and postdoctoral researchers, early-career academics and science-led founders through academic exchange, career conversations and connections across universities.

Our academic advisers include members of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Fellows of the Royal Academy of Engineering and the Royal Society.

Talented researchers, founders and professionals are working across countries, universities, laboratories and industries. Yet access to peers, experienced mentors, collaborators and lasting support can remain fragmented.

Valuable experience often stays with individuals, while promising projects struggle to find the collaborators and support needed to develop.

许多优秀的华人青年学者、创业者和专业人才分散在世界各地。他们有能力、有理想、有创造力，却常常缺少同行连接、前辈经验、合作机会和长期平台。

很多宝贵经验停留在个人记忆里，很多优秀项目也因为缺少协作和转化机制，没有被更多人看见和支持。

People with ambition should not have to move forward alone. Experience should be recorded and shared, and research should be able to cross geographical, disciplinary and industrial boundaries.

As artificial intelligence brings new questions to research, careers and entrepreneurship, OYSS focuses on what these changes mean for individual development. Thematic discussions and exchanges between academia and industry help members explore the uses and limits of new tools, consider research directions and find opportunities for collaboration and science-led ventures.

优秀的人不应该孤独前行。经验应该被记录和传承，人才应该被连接，科研和创造应该突破地域、学科和产业边界。

面对人工智能带来的变化，青年科研人才需要重新思考研究方法、职业选择与创业机会。杰青会关注这些变化对个人成长的具体影响，通过专题分享和学术、产业之间的交流，帮助成员理解新工具的应用与边界，探索新的研究方向、合作方式和创业路径。

Many of the decisions that shape a research career are learnt through experience. Moving from doctoral study to independent research, applying for an academic post or exploring a venture can be easier to navigate when others share the paths they took and the difficulties they encountered.

Through academic career talks, Big Talk conversations and exchanges across universities, OYSS records and shares that experience. These conversations help doctoral researchers and early-career scientists and technologists understand their options, plan their next steps and find people to work alongside.

科研与职业成长中的许多关键选择，需要在实践中逐渐摸索。从博士研究到独立开展科研，从申请教职到探索创业，前辈走过的路径和经历过的困难，都能成为后来者的重要参考。

杰青会通过教职分享、Big Talk 名家讲座与跨校交流，让这些经验被记录、被分享，帮助华人博士及青年科技人才更清楚地理解选择，规划下一步，并找到可以共同前行的伙伴。
